Al-Quds Bard Master of Arts in Teaching Program (MAT)
Now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 Academic Year
Al-Quds Bard College for Arts and Sciences (AQB) at Al-Quds University is now accepting applications for the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program for the first semester of the 2017-2018 academic year. The AQB MAT Program is the first and only MAT program in Palestine. It combines graduate coursework in education and an academic discipline, and provides students with hand-on training in the use of innovative student-centered teaching methodologies. AQB MAT graduates and students are highly regarded for the contributions they make to their schools and to the broader effort of educational reform in K-12 education. Graduates receive degrees from Al-Quds University and Bard College in the United States.
In-service teachers and prospective teachers holding a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, English Literature, Natural Sciences, Biology, or History with a GPA of at least 70% are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have a good command of English reading, writing, and speaking. Candidates are chosen based on their application and successful performance in an admission committee interview.
Partial scholarships are awarded based on merit and need.
Interested applicants with the requisite academic background and English language skills can obtain the Al-Quds University application card at the Financial Office of Al-Quds University in Abu Dis, Hind Al-Hussaini College in Sheikh Jarrah, Jerusalem, or Arab Bank branches. A nonrefundable application fee of 250 NIS applies.
